- Education: The C.E. and S. Foundation will catalyze measurable improvements in education outcomes within the cradle to career ecosystem through strategic, effective application of the Foundation’s assets. This work will be done in partnership with both public and private organizations throughout the community. Areas of focus for this work include:
- Building the civic infrastructure needed to galvanize stakeholders, spur action and measure progress
- Ensuring that children are prepared for success from the start
- Creating conditions to improve school district success through effective teachers, principals and governance
- Supporting at-risk students to college and career readiness and completion
By aligning the Foundation's investments with paths that lead to academic milestonesas identified by Destination:Degree, the Foundation will be able to gauge success. - Global Competency: The Foundation supports programs that enable citizens of other countries to gain the education or specialized training needed to help their countries develop, or that meaningfully expose Americans to other societies and cultures.
- Urban Environment: The Foundation supports projects that improve living conditions and/or enhance the lives of people in their communities.
Our Misson
The C.E. and S. Foundation identifies, funds, and nurtures projects and organizations in the fields of education, global competency, and improvements to the urban environment that meaningfully enhance the living conditions or prospects of identifiable people. The Foundation is also dedicated to fostering philanthropic spirit and organization effectiveness through service to the field. The majority of grants are made in the Foundation's focus areas are based in Louisville, KY, the Foundation's home.
